<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;text-indent:36.0pt;"><span style="font-family:'Verdana','sans-serif'; font-size:10.0pt; ">In an effort to improve the quality of ornamental fish and reduce mortality due to diseases of ornamental fish, fisheries experts with experience is needed. This time, the availability of fishery experts are still very limited and much expert knowledge is missing due to lack of documentation. On this research, objectives achievement is to design a prototype system of case-based reasoning (CBR) that can be used as a tool for diagnosing diseases of ornamental fish. The method used in this study is the experimental method. Making prototype CBR system is done using knowledge representation takes the form of rules, the concept of similarity and probability certainty factor. The conclusion obtained is the prototype CBR systems can diagnose diseases of ornamental fish well and the results of analysis can be accepted by fisheries expert and non expert users. But this system still has shortcomings that is limited in its knowledge base. Prototype CBR system is not intended to replace fisheries expert but as an aid in diagnosing diseases of ornamental fish. </span></p>
